A Poem by Thayne Whipple
A Canvas
Jan 14, 2016
A palette filled with many shades
A canvas, frame and skill
A brush, a thought, but even more -
An artist's untamed will;
A canvas, frame and skill
A brush, a thought, but even more -
An artist's untamed will;
Does hang above my faded couch
Amidst a peeling wall,
And oversees my life's charade,
For aren't we actors all?
Amidst a peeling wall,
And oversees my life's charade,
For aren't we actors all?
I only hope that once life's o'er
A masterpiece I'll leave.
And not just doodles on a pad -
That some my death might grieve.
A masterpiece I'll leave.
And not just doodles on a pad -
That some my death might grieve.
