A Poem by Thayne Whipple
A Little Opposition
Jul 12, 2015
There is something in a sunset
That makes me want to stay,
And watch the colors in the sky
Forever and a day.
That makes me want to stay,
And watch the colors in the sky
Forever and a day.
There are walks along the seashore
I wish would never end;
And I treasure quiet moments
Alone, or with a friend.
I wish would never end;
And I treasure quiet moments
Alone, or with a friend.
And it's times like these that help us
To make it through this life;
To overcome our struggles, and
To cope with stress and strife.
To make it through this life;
To overcome our struggles, and
To cope with stress and strife.
But were it not for crisis, and
That same old daily grind;
The constant dread of deadlines, and
The fear that we're behind,
That same old daily grind;
The constant dread of deadlines, and
The fear that we're behind,
I suppose they wouldn't mean much,
And though nuisances annoy,
If we never felt the sorrow
We could never know the joy.
And though nuisances annoy,
If we never felt the sorrow
We could never know the joy.
