A Simple Rhyme

Sep 10, 2015
I think that I shall never win
A Pulitzer.
For that does talent, intellect
And work infer.
But If I should a simple rhyme
just happen on,
I'll write it in my little pad
And when I'm gone —
If one should read that little phrase
And think it nice,
My life will then have been a worth —
While sacrifice.
