A Poem by Thayne Whipple

Aspirations

Oct 26, 2015
If I were a king...
I would be the greatest king in the world.
I would only enact good laws and treat everyone well.
People would come from all over the world
Just to look at my kingdom and maybe live in it.
If I were a chef...
I would be the greatest chef in the world.
I would prepare food like it had never been done before.
People would come from all over the world
Just to watch me prepare food and maybe taste it.
If I were a tailor...
I would be the greatest tailor in the world.
I would make the nicest clothes anyone has ever seen.
People would come from all over the world
Just to see my clothes and maybe try them on.
If I were a fisherman...
I would be the greatest fisherman in the world.
I would catch the biggest and best fish in the sea.
People would come from all over the world
Just to see my fish and maybe taste them.
If I were a builder...
I would be the greatest builder in the world.
I would make the most beautiful houses ever.
People would come from all over the world
Just to see my houses and maybe live in them.
But what am I? What am I?
I shall be the greatest me in the whole world.
Although I don't know exactly what it is I will do,
People will come from all over the world
And say, "you are the greatest you I have ever seen."
