A Poem by Thayne Whipple
Below a Starry Sky
Nov 22, 2015
Have you, below a starry sky
Thought much on who you are?
A child of Almighty God
From royal courts afar.
Thought much on who you are?
A child of Almighty God
From royal courts afar.
Have you considered what it means
To be a godly heir?
The promise, if you're worthy, to
All endless worlds share.
To be a godly heir?
The promise, if you're worthy, to
All endless worlds share.
Can you imagine what it means
To have all strength and power?
That on the heads of all mankind
Rich blessings you might show'r.
To have all strength and power?
That on the heads of all mankind
Rich blessings you might show'r.
And so I think I'll work toward
That elevated goal.
For I do know I have the pow'r
Within my humble soul.
That elevated goal.
For I do know I have the pow'r
Within my humble soul.
It's not that I am discontent
Completely with my state.
It's just that I would always like
My status elevate.
Completely with my state.
It's just that I would always like
My status elevate.
And from my humble mortal view,
I see no cause to stop
At any intervening point,
In transit to the top.
I see no cause to stop
At any intervening point,
In transit to the top.
