A Poem by Thayne Whipple

Daily Breath

Jan 12, 2016
Is it our right,
We mortal souls who err,
To take away
That which we cannot give?
Are we as God
Who gives life daily breath?
Or merely are
We beggars for that gift?
If one should not
Deprive a fellow life -
In symphony,
This power should we wield?
