A Poem by Thayne Whipple

Doctor

Mar 8, 2016
When my pregnancy first started,
I went to see the ‘Doc.’
He’s gonna cost me plenty, so
I put the house in hock.
He lets me hear the baby’s heart.
He tells me what to do.
He put the kid right on TV,
And tells a joke or two.
He lets me call him any time.
I very rarely do.
But that is what he’s there for, so
He charges for that too.
I think though that he’s worth each cent,
Yes ev’ry little bit.
For when I pop that kid out, He
Will bring his catcher’s mitt!
