A Poem by Thayne Whipple
Drill
Apr 12, 2016
They shout a lot about the way
The oil business works.
That all they want are profits, and
In sum are only jerks.
The oil business works.
That all they want are profits, and
In sum are only jerks.
They don't want them to drill the coasts
Or tanker ships to spill.
Or send our boys to fight for it.
But tell me, where's their will?
Or tanker ships to spill.
Or send our boys to fight for it.
But tell me, where's their will?
Their world is made of plastic
They waste it, as a rule.
They climb into their motor cars
And burn up tons of fuel.
They waste it, as a rule.
They climb into their motor cars
And burn up tons of fuel.
So if you want to criticize,
And drilling want to quit.
Then tell us with your actions —
Don't be a hypocrite!
And drilling want to quit.
Then tell us with your actions —
Don't be a hypocrite!
