A Poem by Thayne Whipple
Dunce
Oct 9, 2015
I've always been quite good at games
Where mind skills proved the key.
But I have found a riddle now
I can't solve logic’lly.
Where mind skills proved the key.
But I have found a riddle now
I can't solve logic’lly.
The problem is: the woman.
And try all that I may,
I cannot understand her.
I've little else to say.
And try all that I may,
I cannot understand her.
I've little else to say.
I've tried to analyze her.
I've tried to understand.
And still without an answer,
In solitude I stand.
I've tried to understand.
And still without an answer,
In solitude I stand.
I only want to win the love
Of one with whom I'd stay.
And love her back profoundly.
Then from her never stray.
Of one with whom I'd stay.
And love her back profoundly.
Then from her never stray.
It seems though, I'm unlucky,
Although it takes just once.
And since success I cannot find,
I feel as if a dunce.
Although it takes just once.
And since success I cannot find,
I feel as if a dunce.
