A Poem by Thayne Whipple
Education
Aug 25, 2015
Education, education,
There's no need for provocation.
Won't you trust me to my studies, sir?
There's no need for provocation.
Won't you trust me to my studies, sir?
I'm a dreamer, not a scholar.
But I'll wear the student's collar,
As I read the next soliloquy.
But I'll wear the student's collar,
As I read the next soliloquy.
For I suppose with facts in hand
I'll on a greater plateau stand.
But do you think it really worth the pain?
I'll on a greater plateau stand.
But do you think it really worth the pain?
For as each novel piece of fact
When with my brain does make impact
I feel cerebrum painfully expand.
When with my brain does make impact
I feel cerebrum painfully expand.
And this is what I have to show,
Because I've truly found it so,
The more I learn the less I find I know!
Because I've truly found it so,
The more I learn the less I find I know!
