Gatsby

Jan 15, 2016
The moonlight glistened through the sky
As Gatsby gazed across the bay –
And through the darkness glimmered bright
A light of green now on display.
It seemed more than a life ago.
Across the ravages of war;
And time and place and Wasteland woes -
When things were as they were before…
How many memories were lost –
Because of choices made in haste?
And dreams that sailed o’er the bay,
Below the waves in death encased.
How different would his life now be –
If he were Tom and Tom were he?
And looking ‘cross the bay at night –
A lonely silhouette he’d see.
Was Daisy’s dock a mere mirage?
Where once he dreamed of happy times?
Or is the coldness of the night,
A penalty for all his crimes?
