A Poem by Thayne Whipple
Hands of Love
Dec 21, 2015
Who was the carpenter -
With skilled and calloused hands,
Who built a manger
And sold it to an innkeeper?
With skilled and calloused hands,
Who built a manger
And sold it to an innkeeper?
Who was the farmer –
Having sown good seeds,
Did harvest, heap, and bundle hay
Upon a cart, to trade in Bethlehem?
Having sown good seeds,
Did harvest, heap, and bundle hay
Upon a cart, to trade in Bethlehem?
Who was the weaver –
Spinning fibers into thread,
Then worked the loom to yield cloth
For a young girl to fashion swaddling clothes?
Spinning fibers into thread,
Then worked the loom to yield cloth
For a young girl to fashion swaddling clothes?
Did they know the child –
Who was gently placed therein?
And with His hands did heal and teach
And save a world from sin.
Who was gently placed therein?
And with His hands did heal and teach
And save a world from sin.
