A Poem by Thayne Whipple
I Wonder Where She Is Today
Jul 24, 2015
Along a sun drenched tropic cay?
Reclined on rocks above the bay?
Perhaps she's in her room this day,
Reflecting on the words she'll say
Reclined on rocks above the bay?
Perhaps she's in her room this day,
Reflecting on the words she'll say
On that fair day when love she'll find.
Then in its snares become entwined,
To reason and to logic blind,
Emotion overcoming mind.
Then in its snares become entwined,
To reason and to logic blind,
Emotion overcoming mind.
Oh, for that day to come I plea
When to unite we both agree.
That fin'lly we may joyful be;
Forever living ecstasy.
When to unite we both agree.
That fin'lly we may joyful be;
Forever living ecstasy.
But we for now apart remain.
Her name to know I do not feign.
Just hope one day her love I'll gain —
That I don't search for her in vain.
Her name to know I do not feign.
Just hope one day her love I'll gain —
That I don't search for her in vain.
