A Poem by Thayne Whipple
Look to the Stars
Aug 31, 2015
Some people work all night and day.
They "punch the clock" and get their pay.
With windows closed, and door tight shut,
They carve an ever deeper rut.
They "punch the clock" and get their pay.
With windows closed, and door tight shut,
They carve an ever deeper rut.
While others never work, it seems,
And hope to pay their rent with dreams.
They live apparently on air,
And don't appear to have a care.
And hope to pay their rent with dreams.
They live apparently on air,
And don't appear to have a care.
But those whom I have seen succeed,
Are quite a different acting breed.
They'll dream until they have a thought,
Then work until results are wrought.
Are quite a different acting breed.
They'll dream until they have a thought,
Then work until results are wrought.
So, if you care to pay the price,
I have some rather good advice:
Look to the stars, where dreams are found.
But keep your feet upon the ground.
I have some rather good advice:
Look to the stars, where dreams are found.
But keep your feet upon the ground.

"Keep your eyes on the stars, and your feet on the ground."
