A Poem by Thayne Whipple
Love Line
Aug 21, 2015
I wish I had some clever lines
And knew just what to say.
I wish that I were handsome, and
The heroes role could play.
And knew just what to say.
I wish that I were handsome, and
The heroes role could play.
I also wish that charm and grace
Came easily to me.
And for my style and bearing, you
Impressed with me would be.
Came easily to me.
And for my style and bearing, you
Impressed with me would be.
Yet nonetheless I‘m standing here,
Adoring only you;
And hope that by some quirk of fate
You're thinking of me too.
Adoring only you;
And hope that by some quirk of fate
You're thinking of me too.
So if you have some idle time
With nothing really planned,
I wonder if you'd like to take
A walk along the sand.
With nothing really planned,
I wonder if you'd like to take
A walk along the sand.
And we could talk of life and love
And politics awhile,
Then if you like the company
You'll look my way and smile.
And politics awhile,
Then if you like the company
You'll look my way and smile.
I thought I'd write this little note
With honesty unfeigned.
I only have my pride to lose -
And nothing ventured, nothing gained.
With honesty unfeigned.
I only have my pride to lose -
And nothing ventured, nothing gained.
