When brilliant star, up in the sky,
Does t'ward the earth in glory fly;
Although on impact gives a shock,
The end result; an ugly rock.
Does t'ward the earth in glory fly;
Although on impact gives a shock,
The end result; an ugly rock.
And so it is in life it seems,
Reality must uproot dreams.
And hopes against the rocks do crash
When with the facts they harshly clash.
Reality must uproot dreams.
And hopes against the rocks do crash
When with the facts they harshly clash.
Thus, this advice I have for you,
As in my life it's proven true;
A remedy for undue grief
That from a fall, might find relief.
As in my life it's proven true;
A remedy for undue grief
That from a fall, might find relief.
When Idols in your life do light,
Quick! elevate them out of sight.
On pedestal they should remain,
Before they cause you any pain.
Quick! elevate them out of sight.
On pedestal they should remain,
Before they cause you any pain.
And this is why, my little friend,
I've chosen to, this message send:
When under any scrutiny
Your idol's faults you'll surely see.
I've chosen to, this message send:
When under any scrutiny
Your idol's faults you'll surely see.
