A Poem by Thayne Whipple
MIA
May 30, 2016
I've lost my keys, I've lost a shoe,
But thanks to heav’n above
I've never in a bloody war
Lost someone that I love.
But thanks to heav’n above
I've never in a bloody war
Lost someone that I love.
But worse than that, if it could be
Instead of their demise.
Not knowing if in jungle camp
The Lord does hear their cries.
Instead of their demise.
Not knowing if in jungle camp
The Lord does hear their cries.
In this cold world, of rhetoric
I earnest hope and pray
That we might somehow, somewhere find
Each cherished MIA.
I earnest hope and pray
That we might somehow, somewhere find
Each cherished MIA.
