To some it seems is given more.
This topic then I must explore.
For why to them and not to me?
Injustice done, you must agree!
This topic then I must explore.
For why to them and not to me?
Injustice done, you must agree!
While lovers walking hand in hand
Do pass my way, I solemn stand.
Alone I pass away my time.
In solitude I wax sublime.
Do pass my way, I solemn stand.
Alone I pass away my time.
In solitude I wax sublime.
In commerce, some reach lofty heights.
They wield their pow'r in corp'rate fights.
While I my memos churn and file,
With hopes to emulate their style.
They wield their pow'r in corp'rate fights.
While I my memos churn and file,
With hopes to emulate their style.
Then others travel ‘round the globe.
Exotic ports they daily probe.
As I more static on my stool,
Appear to all, the village fool.
Exotic ports they daily probe.
As I more static on my stool,
Appear to all, the village fool.
And some are wise and some are proud,
While some stand tall above the crowd.
As some have wealth to high degree,
And others rare lack company.
While some stand tall above the crowd.
As some have wealth to high degree,
And others rare lack company.
Is this then some eternal scheme,
To thwart my every waking dream?
Or may I from this state redeem
A little more than it may seem.
To thwart my every waking dream?
Or may I from this state redeem
A little more than it may seem.
For fame, good looks and mounds of gold
Do not a great man make, I'm told.
And this I certain must believe
Should I to greatness wish achieve.
Do not a great man make, I'm told.
And this I certain must believe
Should I to greatness wish achieve.
So rather curse in heaven's name,
I will not unfair practice claim,
But simply live my life each day,
And on the straight and narrow stay.
I will not unfair practice claim,
But simply live my life each day,
And on the straight and narrow stay.
So when I see my Maker's face
He won't resist my warm embrace.
That by His side I'll take my place.
And progress on within His grace.
He won't resist my warm embrace.
That by His side I'll take my place.
And progress on within His grace.
So whether rich or famous I
Should be the day I'm called to die;
As long as I am free of sin,
Celestial glory I shall win.
Should be the day I'm called to die;
As long as I am free of sin,
Celestial glory I shall win.
