A Poem by Thayne Whipple
Mr. President
May 24, 2016
Beneath the spacious skies, I hear
Our nation did elect
A President to lead us, and
To give our full respect.
Our nation did elect
A President to lead us, and
To give our full respect.
I must admit, I didn't put
A check beside his name.
But I wish all the best for him
And all should do the same.
A check beside his name.
But I wish all the best for him
And all should do the same.
And work to strengthen our great land
A little more each day.
A place where we can prosper, and
Our grandchildren can play.
A little more each day.
A place where we can prosper, and
Our grandchildren can play.
So Mr. President, I ask,
Please don't deny our trust.
We've chosen you to guide us and
The job fulfill, you must.
Please don't deny our trust.
We've chosen you to guide us and
The job fulfill, you must.
