A Poem by Thayne Whipple
Pelican
Feb 17, 2016
Pelican, Pelican out on the rock -
You look so funny it's hard not to mock.
Pelican, Pelican flying so high -
Why won't you fly to me, why are you shy?
You look so funny it's hard not to mock.
Pelican, Pelican flying so high -
Why won't you fly to me, why are you shy?
Pelican, Pelican with those big feet,
You can swim faster than any you meet.
Pelican, Pelican dive in the sea —
With all those fish, oh how happy you'll be.
You can swim faster than any you meet.
Pelican, Pelican dive in the sea —
With all those fish, oh how happy you'll be.
Pelican, Pelican with that big beak -
Could you swallow the ocean and not even leak?
Pelican, Pelican eat all the sea -
But please Mr. Pelican, do not eat me!
Could you swallow the ocean and not even leak?
Pelican, Pelican eat all the sea -
But please Mr. Pelican, do not eat me!
