A Poem by Thayne Whipple

Progress?

Jul 5, 2015
Although modern innovation Is a marvelous sensation,
A phenomenon of sorts has come about:
With space age new appliances,
We've shed our old reliances
On perspiration; and this fact we tout.
As we'd rather wear our ruffles
And consume our share of truffles,
Hence our middles are now growing rather stout.
So then we join a super gym
To keep our bodies fit and trim
Yet still our blooming waistlines make us pout.
And our savings are depleted
From all these things we've needed
To maintain in our society some clout.
My final question is; would we,
Save time, our cash and energy
If chores we did do manually,
And thus I'll cease this silly verse to spout.
