A Poem by Thayne Whipple
Ruins
Aug 28, 2015
Shafts of morning light
Through castle's gaping crack,
Reflect the moment
When foe did make attack.
Through castle's gaping crack,
Reflect the moment
When foe did make attack.
Sheltered royal court
Awakened to the sun,
The harshness of life,
Which heretofore did shun.
Awakened to the sun,
The harshness of life,
Which heretofore did shun.
Did I, now dead lord,
Build battlement to hide
The sick and helpless,
Who suffer by my side.
Build battlement to hide
The sick and helpless,
Who suffer by my side.
