A Poem by Thayne Whipple
School Prayer
Apr 5, 2016
Dear God, I humbly to thee pray:
And thank thee for this day,
For this great land of liberty,
And for each sunshine ray.
And thank thee for this day,
For this great land of liberty,
And for each sunshine ray.
I'll have to end my prayer now, Lord
I'm getting close to school.
And they won't let me pray there now
It is against the rule.
I'm getting close to school.
And they won't let me pray there now
It is against the rule.
Like Daniel, who for prayer was cast
Into the lions den.
I fear they might expel me, thus
I'll have to say, Amen.
Into the lions den.
I fear they might expel me, thus
I'll have to say, Amen.
