A Poem by Thayne Whipple
That's Life!
Jul 29, 2015
Now let's suppose one day you found
Your home had burned right to the ground.
Then sifting through the ashen mess,
You badly soil your only dress
(For all the rest were lost).
Your home had burned right to the ground.
Then sifting through the ashen mess,
You badly soil your only dress
(For all the rest were lost).
Now many would profanely swear.
Or yell and pull out all their hair.
Then sit upon the ground and cry
"Why always me? Oh why? Oh why?"
(And drink until they're sauced).
Or yell and pull out all their hair.
Then sit upon the ground and cry
"Why always me? Oh why? Oh why?"
(And drink until they're sauced).
But after all it seems to me,
That life's not always meant to be
Devoid of worries, fear and strife.
And ‘though it's sometimes rough, that's life!
(As someone great once said).
That life's not always meant to be
Devoid of worries, fear and strife.
And ‘though it's sometimes rough, that's life!
(As someone great once said).
And even if the wrath of God
One day the polar ice caps thawed.
Or all the world went to war,
And missiles through our cities tore.
(And left us all for dead).
One day the polar ice caps thawed.
Or all the world went to war,
And missiles through our cities tore.
(And left us all for dead).
I hope that we, through all the pain,
Could find the strength to not complain.
But rather sing a glad refrain
And always calm and cool remain;
(For after all, THAT'S LIFE!).
Could find the strength to not complain.
But rather sing a glad refrain
And always calm and cool remain;
(For after all, THAT'S LIFE!).
