The Faith of One as Weak as I

Sep 6, 2015
If I had faith as Moses had
To make the Red Sea part;
Or just as a small mustard seed
Placed somewhere in my heart;
I know that I could mountains move.
And miracles perform...
Impart the blind their vision, and
To tame the savage storm.
But at times I feel I'm lacking
(Between just me and you)
I fear that I have much to learn
Before these feats I do.
I truly know that God does live.
His son was crucified.
To all the resurrection is
Most graciously applied.
But line by line, the method, by
The which we all must learn.
And bit by bit the progress, as
We greater power earn.
So I thank my Heav'nly Father
Each morning as I pray;
For the faith I have to wake up
And face another day.
The faith I have to earn my keep;
To buy my daily bread.
To overcome temptation and
To choose the right instead.
And so if I, each week or so
A bit more faith do gain,
Perhaps my own celestial crown
I will one day obtain.
