The Mirths of Christmas

Dec 22, 2015
The scholars of our time do say;
Christ was not born on Christmas day.

And more, the wise men came too late
To be in Bethlehem that date.

The carols likely not were sung
And not one single bell was rung.

What's more, the story of S. Clause,
Does also have its share of flaws.

And don't forget that tree of pine
Is nothing more than pagan sign.

But should these truths at all detract
From that most all consuming fact;

That Christ was born, and love he brought
And truth to all the masses taught?

So sing the carols loud and strong,
And let the church bells peal long;

Then trim the tree and deck the halls
And let the shoppers fill the malls.

For there is cause to celebrate!
What e'er the season or the date.

And let us at this time recall
Our savior came to save us all.
