A Poem by Thayne Whipple
Valentine
Feb 12, 2016
In the month of February,
There's a day, or so I'm told,
Especially for lovers young ...
Or middle-aged or old.
There's a day, or so I'm told,
Especially for lovers young ...
Or middle-aged or old.
So on this day with thoughtful gift
And with romance in the air,
They find a quiet corner, and
Then all the evening share.
And with romance in the air,
They find a quiet corner, and
Then all the evening share.
But ever since I can recall
There has been a fellow who
Has really taken over, and
I don't know what to do.
There has been a fellow who
Has really taken over, and
I don't know what to do.
His name it seems is Valentine
And they thus have named the day
But hope I have to him o'erthrow
That to love, I also may!
And they thus have named the day
But hope I have to him o'erthrow
That to love, I also may!
