A Poem by Thayne Whipple
What's a Name
Jan 19, 2016
I’m awfully glad that at my birth
My parents didn’t call me ‘Dearth,’
My parents didn’t call me ‘Dearth,’
Or ‘Parsininthreopraphy’
Or ‘Catchattorriaminy.’
Or ‘Catchattorriaminy.’
Because the children like to tease
And would have put me ill at ease.
And would have put me ill at ease.
But even though they all would laugh
When glancing o’er my autograph,
When glancing o’er my autograph,
If I did one day gain great fame
They all would wish they had my name!
They all would wish they had my name!
