A Poem by Thayne Whipple
Win
Sep 14, 2015
I’ll tell you who you cannot beat –
The fellow who stays on his feet.
Or if knocked down, he gets back up –
He’s always going to win the cup!
The fellow who stays on his feet.
Or if knocked down, he gets back up –
He’s always going to win the cup!
You may be faster, or more wise –
But he will always claim the prize.
He’ll take a punch right to the chin,
And somehow, he will always win.
But he will always claim the prize.
He’ll take a punch right to the chin,
And somehow, he will always win.
You try to squash his spirit down,
He’ll come right back, and win the crown.
You beat him ‘til he’s on the floor,
And there he comes, right back for more.
He’ll come right back, and win the crown.
You beat him ‘til he’s on the floor,
And there he comes, right back for more.
So if a vict’ry is your plan.
You simply have to be that man!
You simply have to be that man!
