A Poem by Thayne Whipple
Zero
Oct 15, 2015
I wish within this rhyme to state
My feelings t'ward a number great.
And voice concerns I've had of late
‘Bout those who would my theme equate To nothing.
My feelings t'ward a number great.
And voice concerns I've had of late
‘Bout those who would my theme equate To nothing.
‘Though zero added to itself
Remains unchanged upon its shelf.
And when to other sums combined,
There's been no change, we do this find
Remains unchanged upon its shelf.
And when to other sums combined,
There's been no change, we do this find
Amazing; When rather than combine the two,
We set them side by side and do
Examine the result we see
It's increased value by degree of ten.
We set them side by side and do
Examine the result we see
It's increased value by degree of ten.
So never underestimate
The problems which we can create
By overlooking zeroes and
Not noticing just where they stand.
The problems which we can create
By overlooking zeroes and
Not noticing just where they stand.
The End.
